The Instructor: Erika Wilson is a local artist with two passions: printmaking and picture books. She has worked mainly in watercolor for most of her life, but once she was introduced to linoleum-block relief printmaking by Julie Sola, she was hooked. Erika has since fully embraced printmaking and all that comes with it. She enjoys carving and printing for its artistic expression, but also for the meditative practice of working with her hands. Erika is a proud create-at-home-mom, splitting time between chasing her toddler around the farm and creating art in her storage shed-turned art studio.

In 2017, Erika illustrated a picture book called THE SPILL, written by author Jacqueline Leigh, and is currently working on illustrations for a second picture book slated for publication in 2020. Erika presently holds the position of Illustrator Coordinator for the Montana Chapter of SCBWI. (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.) ”I've seen Brooke at work, and she's more like a chihuahua who's had one too many cups of coffee.” - Friend of the artist, Dorothy Curtis
