The Toucan's very own Samantha French will be exhibiting her newest body of work as the featured artist for the month of September.
Samantha's abstract textural work is environmentally inspired and incorporates a multitude of materials from gauche to oils, inks, pastels, beading and embroidery. The exhibit will include works on canvas, paper, and wood panels. Come on down, chat with the artist, enjoy some refreshments and let these tactile pieces titillate your senses!
The artist will donate 10% of each piece sold during the show to the Northern Plains Resource Council to aid conservation efforts.
About the Show:
"This body of work focuses on our natural world in both the visible and imperceptible. They are expressive abstractions of both the earthly and otherworldly, the tangible and the undefined. Interpretations of the force of nature, causing both beauty and desecration and the relation of the human impact. The pieces are visceral, tactile and temporal, intended to be experienced."
